IT’S NOT often a Leeds fan has something good to say about David Beckham – but 10-year-old Ballinamallard boy Adam Kirkpatrick thinks he’s an “out and out gentleman”!
Adam met the England star and other United players at their training ground recently when he was invited to present Roy Carroll with an award.
Adam, and his mum, Sandra Kirkpatrick, were guests of the club after the young boy – who is in remission from leukaemia – nominated his hero, Roy, for the Red Cross award.
Despite his stardom, the Tamlaght man has taken a special interest in Adam over the years.
Adam’s nomination resulted in Roy winning the award, and the club invited the Ballinamallard Primary School to present it him. Sir Alex Ferguson and many of the players, including Beckham and Ruud van Nistlerooy, came over and made quite a fuss over the young lad.
