A POPULAR member of staff at Enniskillen Integrated Primary School and four students at Erne Integrated College, Enniskillen have been shortlisted for top honours in the first Integrated Education Awards.
Charlie McAuley (pictured on left) has been shortlisted for the Support Staff of the Year Award for his outstanding service to both pupils and staff as well as his general contribution to school life.
His nominator, Adele Kerr, principal of Enniskillen Integrated Primary School, believes Charlie, their school caretaker, is very worthy of recognition and she points out that he is very highly regards by children, parents and staff.
Adele points out that he maintains their school building to very high standards and she highlights the many other roles that he performs, including his involvement in football coaching.
The news that he had been shortlisted came as a major surprise to Charlie and he is modest about his involvement, although he is pleased to be recognised.
Charlies’s son, Robert, is one of four young people at Erne Integrated College achieve recognition in the students’ awards as a result of sporting achievements.
Lynne McFrederick is shortlisted for a sports award while Donall Cross was shortlisted for academic excellence. Daniel McCann has been shortlisted for ‘Musician of the Year’.
