There is fantastic news for Fermanagh once again with the county town of Enniskillen named one of the most welcoming places in the UK, courtesy of Booking.com's Traveller Review Awards 2022.
This marks the third year in a row that the island town has been featured in the site's 'Most Welcoming Towns and Cities in the UK' Top 10 list.
A spokesperson for Enniskillen Castle: Fermanagh County Museum welcomed the news, posting on Facebook: "We know we're welcoming but it's lovely to see it's official!
"Congratulations to Ballycastle and Bushmills in Co. Antrim and Newcastle in Co. Down for being in the Top 10 too."
Following research from more than 232 million verified reviews as part of Booking.com’s 10th annual Traveller Review Awards, the digital travel leader is sharing the most welcoming places in the UK to inspire your next staycation.
The awards are recognising more than 1.25 million travel providers around the world for their hospitality, including 53,623 in the UK.
The UK towns and cities recognised in the top 10 alongside Enniskillen include Kirkwall, Orkney; Ballycastle, Co. Antrim; Frome, Somerset; Lerwick, Shetland; Wick, Highlands; Bushmills, Co. Antrim; Newcastle, Co. Down; Glastonbury, Somerset; and Kelso, Scottish Borders.
The 'Most Welcoming Towns and Cities in the UK’ destinations were sorted by the total share of Traveller Review Award 2022 recipients when compared to the total amount of eligible properties in that city or region (accommodation only).
Destinations had to have at least 50 award recipients in each city to be included in this list and were sorted by the highest share of winners per destination.
