A man has been sentenced to time in prison after he was convicted of breaching a restraining order.
William Thomas Birney (56), of Tullyreagh Road, Tempo, was arrested on January 15 after police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at Hillview Road, Enniskillen.
When officers arrived at around 7pm, Birney was outside the house of a woman who he was prohibited from contacting, while he was also not allowed to be within 100 metres of the house.
Police spoke to the defendant, who admitted he was aware of the restraining order and that he was in breach of it by being outside the address.
In an interview on January 16, Birney made full admissions and said he had been drinking at the time of the incident.
Stephen Fitzpatrick, barrister for Birney, told the court there was very little he could say about the incident, only that Birney had made admissions at the first opportunity.
Birney was handed a five-month prison sentence by District Judge Steven Keown.
