A conference is to be held later this month on the future of fishing on the Erne.
Among the speakers will be Minister of Agriculture, Environment, and Rural Affairs, Edwin Poots.
The 'Future Of The Erne Fishery' conference will be held at the Manor House Hotel on February 26 from 1-5pm.
Other speakers include Art Niven, Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affair (DAERA), speaking on Fisheries Management and Policy; Kerry Anderson, Head of Water Management Unit, Northern Ireland Environment Agency, speaking on water quality changes on the Erne; followed by Dr. Richard Kenned and Dr. Robert Rosell, Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute, speaking on The Fishery Status.
Speakers will then raise some of the key issues which have been facing anglers. Albert Keys, who is Chairman of Erne Rivers Trust, will speak on issues, as will Stephen Hey, who is Chairman of Kesh Angling Club.
They will be followed by Dr. William O’Connor, environmental consultant, Ecofact who will speak on Erne Hydro Dams.
Finally, Michael Shortt will speak on trout fishing experiences.
