A recycling centre in the Fermanagh and Omagh District is to close for three weeks.
Fermanagh and Omagh District Council (FODC)is undertaking works at Dromore Recycling Centre which will require the site to be closed for a period of approximately three weeks.
The Recycling Centre will be closed from March 9 and it is anticipated that it will be reopen on March 31. The works are part of the Council’s commitment to improve the welfare facilities across its network of Recycling Centres and Civic Amenity Sites.
Speaking about the works the Chair of FODC, Councillor Errol Thompson, said “These works are part of the Council’s significant capital investment to improve its infrastructure and waste and recycling assets. They will improve the working conditions for staff at the Site as well as ensuring a safer environment for residents.
"I would like to take the opportunity to thank our residents for their ongoing recycling efforts which helps to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill, ensuring the Council can achieve its landfill targets.”
During the period of closure, residents are encouraged to use Gortrush Recycling Centre, Omagh which is open Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 6.45pm and Saturday from 9am to 6.45pm or Fintona Recycling Centre which is open Monday to Friday from 11am to 6.45pm and Saturday from 11am to 3.45pm.
The Council apologises for any inconvenience caused during this time.
