St. Patrick’s Day celebrations will one again be taking place across Fermanagh on March 17.
In Enniskillen, the St. Patrick’s Day Festival will see an exciting day full of music, dance and entertainment for all the family.
In the town centre, there will be entertainment on the street featuring the best of local talent with music from Roslea CCÉ featuring Blathnaid, Saoirse and Darragh Rooney; and other performers to be confirmed for the celebrations.
Irish dancers Aoife Rooney and Caitlin Flanagan will be performing as well as Sophie Armstrong from Erne Highland Dancers.
The festivities are not just confined to the town centre, as Enniskillen Castle will also be hosting an exciting programme for the whole family, with food vendors, market stalls and live music ensuring a fun-filled day for everyone.
Elsewhere in Fermanagh, Ederney St. Joseph’s GAC are hosting a Leprechaun Hunt. Starting at noon at St. Joseph’s Park, Ederney, participants are invited to collect some Irish words along the way and maybe even find a bag of gold!
Out at Knockninny Country House, there will be a traditional music session with Mariesa Dolan, Eugene Dolan and PJ Doone from 5pm to 7pm, and later, musician Sean McBride will perform from 10pm to midnight.
In Derrygonnelly, a St. Patrick’s Day parade will take place at 1pm on the day. Organisers are calling for children and adults alike to don their favourite fancy dress costume and join the parade.
Alongside the parade there will be a family fun day with balloon modelling, face painting, music and dancing.
Back in Enniskillen, entertainment will continue on the evening of St. Patrick’s Day with Live at the Castle, as a range of bands are set to perform under the Big Top including The Logues, The Porter Bellys, The Tumbling Paddies, The Hand Me Downs and The Blarneys.
Fermanagh hospitality establishments will also be celebrating throughout the day with live entertainment, check out your local for all the latest.
Festivities will continue on into the weekend and Mahon’s Hotel in Irvinestown is hosting a guided walk around Necarne Castle and The Garden of Celtic Saints, with lots of Irvinestown history to be discovered, followed by an Irish Coffee, and some historical tales.
With all of the above going on, there’ll truly be something for everyone this St. Patrick’s Day all across Fermanagh.
