Emergency Services in Fermanagh assisted with the rescue of some cattle from a burning lorry this afternoon (Wednesday) in Enniskillen, the fire broke out at 12.20pm.
13 cattle had to be rescued by emergency service personnel, two Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) appliances attended the incident, one from Enniskillen and one from Irvinestown
A NIFRS spokesperson said: "Firefighters were called to a fire on a lorry carrying 13 cattle. The cattle were removed from the trailer and Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used three jets to extinguish the fire. There were no injuries to the driver or the cattle. The incident was dealt with by 1.05pm and the cause of the fire is believed to be accidental ignition."
A PSNI spokesperson said: "Police received a report of a lorry on fire on the Irvinestown Road in Enniskillen shortly after 12.20pm on Wednesday, March 30.
"The road was closed for a short time to facilitate the safe removal of cows from the lorry to a nearby field. The road was re-opened by 12.50pm."
