Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it has been three years since the last Fleadh Cheoil Fear Manach took place, in Derrylin. The local organising committee are now delighted to announce that the festival of Irish music, dancing and culture will finally return to the county this summer, taking place in Rosslea from Friday, June 10 to 12.
A Fleadh Cheoil Fear Manach spokesperson said: "Keep this weekend free as the committee are working hard behind the scenes to bring our county fleadh back to life and make it one to remember."
It has been a tough time for Comhaltas branches during the pandemic but it is encouraging to hear music around the county again.
"It was great to see the Roslea CCE musicians take to the stage at Enniskillen Castle and perform on the Diamond on St. Patricks Day with many other musicians taking part in traditional music sessions," said the spokesperson.
The Fermanagh County Board Youth Session returns on Sunday, April 3 at Enniskillen Gaels Club, from 5pm to 7pm, another great initiative to bring young people back playing music together again.
"Lots more fleadh details will be announced in the coming weeks along with competition entry forms. Keep an eye on our social media and local papers. You won’t want to miss it!" said the Fleadh Cheoil Fear Manach spokesperson.
