A man who was travelling to a prospective job offer when stopped by police was a provisional driver with no insurance, a court has heard.
Just before 10am on March 8, police stopped a Ford Fiesta at the Lisnaskea Road, Derrylin, and spoke with its driver.
Joao Pedro Bastos (24), of Main Street, Tempo, was identified as the driver and told them he only had a provisional driving licence.
Further checks on the car showed there was no insurance policy in place, as well as no vehicle test certificate.
Bastos' solicitor, Gary Black, told Enniskillen Magistrates Court on Monday that his client was a young man living in Tempo with his partner and young child.
He was on his way to a prospective job offer and was driving to accept it, but neither he nor the car was roadworthy.
Mr. Black described it as a "foolish decision", but added that Bastos was trying to get off benefits and into work.
He added the defendant made a full admission to police at the roadside.
Mr. Black told the court Bastos' father, who was in court on Monday, had taken over the responsibility of the car and it was now fully MOTd and insured.
He asked the court to give Bastos credit for his early plea.
District Judge Steven Keown handed Bastos six penalty points and £550 in fines for being an unaccompanied 'L' driver, using a motor vehicle without insurance, having no vehicle test certificate, and having no 'L' plates displayed.
This resulted in a six-month disqualification from driving for Bastos, due to an accumulation of penalty points.
