Plans have been submitted to Fermanagh and Omagh District Council that could see an empty town centre unit transformed into a cocktail bar.
The application was lodged on April 21 and has been brought forward for change of use from a ground floor shop to a cocktail bar. There would be several stages to go through before it could become a licensed venue.
The unit at East Bridge Street is currently vacant, and floor plans show how the space could be transformed into a cocktail bar.
The bar would occupy the centre of the unit and would be surrounded by bar stools, with plans suggesting that several tables and chairs would also be installed.
The planning application shows the cocktail bar could hold between 20-30 guests with five members of staff.
According to the planning portal, the application is classified as Under Consideration, and it is currently in the process of neighbourhood consultation until May 6.
Neighbouring addresses to the unit have been notified.
The proposal and further details on the application can be sought via the reference LA10/2022/0431/F on the planning portal.
Although this venture is only in the early stages, the prospect of a new business coming to the town centre has been welcomed.
Enniskillen BID Manager Noelle McAloon said: “Enniskillen BID welcomes all new businesses and a diverse range of business is welcome as long as its fits in with other businesses on the street. Enniskillen BID is here to help all new businesses.”
