THE new bridge that links the Lakeland Forum with the newly developed playing fields at Derrychara was launched this week.
The bridge also forms an integral part of the local cycle network in Enniskillen. The new cycle and pedestrian route improves the loughshore cycle trail by providing a link which will help direct cyclists to Castle Coole estate and to the Ardhowen Theatre.
For the local recreational pleasure and commuter cyclist, the route will not only open up easy access to the town centre, but also provides a scenic and safe route for cycling.
The cost of the bridge and cycle paths is approximately £500,000, of which funding was received from the Kingfisher company, NITB and Sustrans, the sustainable transport charity.
