What was supposed to be a break before Christmas for a couple turned sour following an argument which led to a man being convicted for dangerous driving and driving when unfit.
On December 21, 2021, police were contacted by the manager of the Lough Erne Resort to say a person had left the premises despite staff trying to stop them.
Later police observed a vehicle driving up Darling Street, Enniskillen the wrong way while people were coming out of a bar.
The car was stopped at East Bridge Street at around 12.20am, and there was a smell of intoxicating liquor detected.
Paul Su (33), of Ballynorthland Demesne, Dungannon, failed a preliminary breath test and was arrested for dangerous driving.
Su declined to give any account of the incident.
His barrister, Craig Patton, told Enniskillen Magistrates Court, it was a sad turn of events Su was on a break booked at the hotel before Christmas, but it was ruined following an argument, and he left the hotel.
The incident led to social services becoming involved, and Su has not drank since, while he is still with his partner.
Mr. Patton said it was an incident Su wanted to put behind him.
District Judge Steven Keown handed Su a 20 month-driving ban, and he was fined a total of £500.
