There’s nothing like some fresh air to put a spring in your step. It’s time to get out there and join BBC Northern Ireland for the launch of The Big Walk.

The Big Walk series begins this Sunday (May 29) on BBC Radio Ulster and BBC Sounds at 6.30pm, with Declan Harvey and Lynette Fay, who take a dander and chat as they walk around Florence Court in County Fermanagh, meeting people along the way.

Over the course of the past few years walking has become increasingly popular right across Northern Ireland, as many people have been discovering, and in some cases rediscovering, great places to get out and about.

Now BBC Northern Ireland wants to hear from you.

What is your favourite walk?

Send BBC Northern Ireland your Whatsapp videos, voice notes or photos to 030 30 80 5555, and start with the words ‘Big Walk’.

They want to know, in a few sentences, or a couple of minutes of video, what makes it special, and your favourite BBC Northern Ireland presenter could join you for a stroll over the summer months. You can also email stills pictures and written suggestions to: bigwalkni@bbc.co.uk

Speaking ahead of the airing of the Florence Court episode of The Big Walk radio series, Declan Harvey said: “We’re delighted to be getting out and about and meeting everyone again after the past couple of years. Most of us are now more appreciative of the beautiful scenery on our doorstep so we’d like to come along and explore it with you.”

Lynette Fay said: “Get in touch, tell us about your favourite walk, what you love about it, and why it is worth a visit, and your favourite BBC Radio Ulster and BBC Radio Foyle presenter could be on their way to join you for a stroll.”

Among those also taking part in the series will be: Barra Best and Anne-Marie Wallace, who walk up Divis and Black Mountain; Stephen Nolan and Vinny Hurrell, who will take a walk down around Strangford Lough; Connor Phillips and Linda McAuley walking and talking from South Armagh into County Louth; while Sarah Brett and Michael Bradley will be on Downhill Strand, and Gemma Bradley and Hugo Duncan take a stroll through Gortin Glen.

So get creative, as the more imaginative and entertaining the response, the more chance BBC Northern Ireland will be in touch and come to meet you.

A BBC Northern Ireland spokesperson said: "We want to know all about your favourite walk, what makes it special, and worth a visit."

The deadline for all suggestions is: Thursday, June 30.
