AT LISNASKEA Guardians on Saturday, Major Rossborough, Commissioner, was conducting the business.
The union account at close of half-year stood at £3,699 16s 3d.
The Commissioner went carefully into the bonuses paid to the officers and officials of the Workhouse.
Major Rossborough said he had received a memorial, signed by a number of ratepayers, requesting him to have the resolution granting said bonuses rescinded, and to strike off the bonuses.
The Commissioner directed the clerk to ask the Ministry for Home Affairs to rescind the said resolution of February 18, postponing the matter for six months.
Arising out of the proposed reduction, the following persons, who were in receipt of bonuses, wrote to the Commissioner asking that their salaries be increased, viz., John Martin, master; Bridget McDonnell, matron; Mrs. Martin, teacher; Miss Bogue and Miss Power, nurses, Mrs. Magurk and Miss Murphy, wardsmaids.
Dr. Cassidy also wrote making application for increase of salary in consequence of Clones No. 2 district having been added to his district.
The Commissioner indicated that the matter would receive his attention.
In connection with the Rural District Council, the ratepayers requested that the Dairies and Cowsheds Order be abolished, as it was unnecessary in rural districts. This matters was also deferred for consideration.

Lendrum, Fivemiletown, £700 for being maimed at Clones; and the parents of Commandant Fitzpatrick, £5,000, for son killed at Clones.
