A local DJ is bringing 90s Rave music back to Enniskillen thisweek.
The event – which will take place on Friday, June 10 in the Crowes Nest – will bring ‘Rave legends’ to Enniskillen, including headliners Scott Brown, DJ Xray and DJ Sci.
Tom Muldoon, who founded his own events brand (‘Stack City’), works as a DJ, producer and promoter in Liverpool and has been hosting successful Rave events in Liverpool.
Now, a number of DJs from Fermanagh will be playing support on the night along with Tom, including Shayne Magerr, James McCrea, Darren Davis and Paul Somers.
Journey
Tom explained his journey towards hosting his own events and returning to his home county.
He said: “I came from Enniskillen to Liverpool in 2019 to study Audio Production as I had been producing music for a few years prior.
“I graduated in September, 2021, and had my first pub gig the day I finished uni and a week later had my first Rave gig.”
The start of the year was a turning point for Tom, who said: “I secured two DJ residencies in January and quit my office job in February to pursue my events brand, ‘Stack City’, funded by my six DJ gigs every weekend, and got planning my first Rave.”
A second event was held and in explaining it, Tom gives a preview of what Enniskillen Ravers might expect.
“It was in a small underground cellar with 150 people capacity. I put in state-of-the-art production and had a huge lighting setup with a person controlling the lights in time with the music the whole night.
“It was a full-scale Rave or concert lighting setup, but in a small room which was amazing – everyone couldn’t believe the lights.”
Turning to his local event next Friday night, Tom said: “This is set to be the first Stack City Rave on home soil. I have Rave legends Scott Brown, DJ XRay and DJ Sci booked to play for me in Crowes nightclub.”
Tom continued: “This is a huge night for me – Scott Brown is one of my favourite artists ever, and I have wanted to see him play for years. I can’t get over that he is headlining my Rave!”
He continued: “XRay was a legend in the Nineties and headlined Kelly’s, Portrush regularly and he had a headline show in Mirage in Enniskillen in 1995.”
There has been a huge reaction, explained Tom: “The early-bird tickets and general release tickets sold out within within hours of being announced, and a final release is on sale now, with limited availability.
“This show will appeal not only to people around my age, but will also appeal to older people who used to go to Raves back in the 1990s.”
Tickets are available on the website, skiddle.com, and the event can be found at https://tinyurl.com/yckteevh.
