Three local hospitality businesses have been recognised with awards at the Northern Ireland Hospitality Awards hosted at the Europa Hotel, Belfast on Tuesday, May 31.
Restaurant The Firehouse Bar & Grill, which is owned and operated by Nicky and Gavin Cassidy of the Cassidy Hospitality Group, was named 'Casual Dining Restaurant of the Year: County Fermanagh' while fellow Enniskillen eatery Dollakis won 'Restaurant of the Year: County Fermanagh'.
Elsewhere in the county, The Linnet Inn, Boho, took the title of 'Pub of the Year: County Fermanagh' at the 2022 ceremony.
Matthew McCabe, General Manager, The Firehouse said: "For me, this award is testament and is a recognition of our staff.
"Throughout the past year, it has been difficult to showcase what we can truly offer given the restrictions that were on the industry and guests.
"To be recognised with an award following such a turbulent year, only highlights the incredible service our staff offered but also how hard they worked. I want to recognise their commitment and loyalty to our business and I cannot wait to continue working with them all to ensure we can continue to provide a stellar service to our patrons."
A spokesperson for Dollakis commented on their delight at being recognised with the award.
He said: "[We] were delighted to win the best restaurant in our region and runners up in the best Mediterranean restaurant in Northern Ireland."
Speaking to The Impartial Reporter, Dessie McKenzie, owner of the Linnet Inn called winning the award a "very proud moment".
He continued: "Obviously it's been tough times for the hospitality industry and we were certainly we were going [to the awards] in hope rather than expectation. We just thought it'd be a night out for us as we'd been nominated in the Fermanagh section of 'Pub of the Year' and when we got there it was the very last award of the night and we won the Fermanagh section.
"Just to be nominated was a nice accolade but to win the Fermanagh heat was great," he added.
The winners of the Northern Ireland Hospitality Awards 2022 were voted for by the public.
The event was hosted by Rebecca McKinney who presented 33 awards to the winners, acknowledging them for their hard work and determination to making Northern Ireland the incredible place we all appreciate.
