A man who had drove home after consuming alcohol across the Border has been disqualified for one year from driving at Monday’s sitting on Enniskillen Magistrates Court.
The court heard that police observed a Toyota Avensis on the Lattone Road, Belcoo on April 30, 2022. The court heard that the car was stopped and police noted that the driver, Mr. Hugh Corrigan (71) of Lattone Road was slurring his speech.
The prosecution stated that Corrigan failed the preliminary breath test and in his evidential sample blew 60 mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath.
His solicitor, Mr. Gerard Trainor asked Deputy District Judge Brian Archer to consider the guilty plea at the first opportunity of his client and noted that Corrigan was “confronted” by police at his home.
Judge Archer ordered a one-year disqualification from driving for Corrigan alongside a fine of £300 and a £15 offender levy fee.
