Members of Fermanagh Gardening Society recently visited local schools to present new awards to young gardening enthusiasts.
A spokesperson for the society said they were very impressed by the variety and range of features in the schools' gardens, which foster children’s interest in gardening and growing plants.
These include the use of outdoor classrooms, willow structures, ponds, mud kitchens, poly tunnels and raised beds.
The pupils and teachers explained how they use their gardens as learning environments to holistically enrich children’s experiences.
Three new awards were presented this year at Fermanagh Gardening Society’s very successful annual Daffodil and Spring Flower Show.
St. Joseph’s, Ederney were presented with the School Art Award; Irvinestown Primary School received the School Garden Award; and Moat Primary School received the Youth Daffodil Award.
