A man who harassed his ex-girlfriend has been handed a prison sentence and a restraining order.
At Enniskillen Magistrates Court on Monday, it was heard police were tasked to attend Carnmore Lodge, Enniskillen after the injured party said she had received very abusive texts from her ex.
Jasiunas Nerijus (42), with an address of Willoughby Place, Enniskillen, also attended the property of his ex-girlfriend and appeared intoxicated, knocking on her door and demanding she resume the relationship with him.
He told her if she did not she would lose her job, house, and daughter and go to jail. He then left and got into a car which drove away.
The threats were in response to a previous domestic incident between the pair.
The injured party was scared of Nerijus and was visibly shaken by the incident it was heard.
Jasiunas called the injured party 11 times and sent messages.
The defendant was later observed by police in a car where he was arrested.
His mobile was located and when asked if contacting his ex-girlfriend was excessive, he disagreed.
Jasiunas’ barrister, Stephen Fitzpatrick told the court his client had a clear record whose behaviour was “foolish” but it has not been repeated since Christmas.
Jasiunas is now working and living in Dublin and Mr. Fitzpatrick said he had no intention of returning to Enniskillen.
Convicting Jasiunas of harassment and improper use of communications, District Judge Steven Keown handed him a three-month prison sentence and a two-year restraining order.
Having already been on remand for the equivalent of four months his time was served, but Judge Keown warned Jasiunas that if he repeated his behaviour, judges will look at his last sentence and add to it.
