Police who responded to a road traffic collision discovered the driver of one of the cars had no insurance, a court has heard.
On May 29, 2022, at around 6.20pm police attended the two-vehicle road traffic collision on the Derrylin Road, Enniskillen.
At the scene, they spoke with the driver of a BMW car involved in the incident, Ivan Dimitrov (20), of Castleforde, Ballyconnell.
They also spoke with the passenger in the car, Stoyan Todorov (28), and also of Castleforde, Ballyconnell who identified himself as the owner of the car.
Checks carried out by police showed there was no insurance policy for the car.
Both men were arrested and taken to Omagh Police Station where they both made full admissions.
Gary Black, representing both defendants, told Enniskillen Magistrates Court on Monday, the car had been purchased by Todorov a few days before the incident and he had been advised it was insured for three days but he did not look further into this.
On the day in question, the car was being moved as Todorov intended to use it to learn to drive.
It was on the assurance that the car was insured that Dimitrov drove the car but he also did not look any further into it.
Mr. Black asked the court to give his clients credit for their clear record and admissions at the interview.
Dimitrov was convicted of driving with no insurance and given six penalty points and a £350 fine while Todorov also received six penalty points and £350 for permitting no insurance.
