While most Fermanagh football fans are ruing the premature departure of the Republic of Ireland and England from the World Cup, one Carrybridge family are dancing the Samba after Brazil's victory over Turkey in the semi-final.
Gisele Fagan moved to Fermanagh after marrying Lisbellaw man, Thomas Fegan in her home city of Rio in 1990. In a classically romantic story, Gisele revealed the couple had first become acquainted as penpals, before Thomas decided to visit Rio one day to meet her properly and they fell in love.
Along with their three children, Tatiana, Thomas and Hannah, they have been following Brazil's progress closely through the rounds, celebrating every victory with a barbecue and a phone call home to Rio.
Gisele, who believes she is the only Brazilian in Fermanagh, plans to watch the final against Germany at home, and predicts the score, "being generous", will be 2-1 to Brazil. Any visitors from Enniskillen's twin town of Bielefeld might disagree.
