Political, cultural and religious issues were at the forefront of the County Platform Service in Enniskillen. 
The sermon was delivered by Wor. Bro. Rev. Charles Eames, at Enniskillen Twelfth. 
He began by delivering a statement from the Chaplains Committee of the Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland, which focused on recent political events.
Part of it stated: “The political turmoil in government, and the resignation of the Prime Minister, is a crisis brought about by our nation’s departure from Biblical and moral standards.”

Rev. Eames’ sermon touched on the three Resolutions read from the platform; The Faith was read by County Grand Chaplain, Wor. Bro. Rev. Rodney Beacom; Loyalty, by County Grand Master, Wor. Bro. Mervyn Byers; and The State, read by Deputy County Grand Master, Wor. Bro Norman Donaldson.
Rev. Eames said: “In our first resolution we heard these words, we continue to support the right to life of the unborn, and we encourage all to look to God’s holy and inspired word, the Bible, for moral and ethical guidance on this matter.
“Sadly, those that are making the laws, I don’t think even know that the Bible exists.”
Making reference to the banner that led the parade, and remembering the 31 members of the County Fermanagh Grand Orange Lodge who were murdered during The Troubles, Rev. Eames referred to the Northern Ireland Troubles (Legacy and Reconciliation) Bill, currently under consideration in Westminster.

Legislation
He said: “There’s legislation going through Parliament at the moment that would mean basically that anyone – and the families of those people who haven’t had the opportunity to have justice – that the opportunity would be, in effect, taken away from them, or a strong possibility of that happening.”
He continued: “We, as individuals, need to be at the forefront of opposing the imposition of this legislation. For once, all parties in this country seem to oppose it, but perhaps for different reasons.”
The Resolution of the Faith quoted from scripture (Hebrews 12 , James 1 and Romans 5), and focused on the issue of abortion, and called for encouragement to look to “God’s holy, inspired word – the Bible – for moral and ethical guidance on this matter”.
The Resolution of Loyalty focused on the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty The Queen, and paid tribute to her reign and her “unstinting faith, loyalty and devotion to her subjects”.
The Resolution to The State focused on various political issues, including the Northern Ireland Protocol and the Orange Order’s continued opposition to it.
Read by Mr. Donaldson, it called on “elected Unionist politicians to stand firm on the matter and put country before party”.
The Resolution also emphasised the continued opposition to the introduction of “any form of legislation for the Irish language”, saying: “We remain committed to cultural equality, and as such are opposed to the elevation and promotion of one tradition at the expense of others.”
