Cavan pro-golfer Leona Maguire is appealing for help to find her missing golf bag, which has been lost during travel.
Leona is due to play the Amundi Evian Championship later this week. The women's professional golf tournament is one of the majors of women's golf and will be played at the Evian Resort Golf Club in Évian-les-Bains.
Miss Maguire, a native of Ballyconnell, tweeted to Dublin Airport and Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) for help on Monday morning, saying: "Really need help from someone @DublinAirport or DAA. Flew from Dublin to Geneva yesterday direct and somehow my golf bag has gone missing between check-in and takeoff. @FlySWISS & @swissportNews have no idea where it is. Need it urgently for @EvianChamp major this week."
One Twitter user suggested that PING, which makes Leona's clubs, may already have a replacement set on their way to the Cavan woman.
In response, Leona said: "Have already asked and been told they can’t be sent in time. This isn’t the men’s tour, where there are club tour vans on-site every week, unfortunately."
Leona is currently ranked as 19th in the world. In 2021, she was a key part of the victorious Europe team which won the Solheim Cup.
