Country Music is all about storytelling and there are subjects and themes that appear again and again through the generations of singers and songwriters.
In his second eight-part series for BBC Sounds and BBC Radio Ulster, singer Nathan Carter picks out some of those familiar themes and plays some songs that relate from country music’s best known performers.
The first episode on Sunday, July 24 at 6.30pm, focuses on songs all about different jobs and working hard. Featured artists include Dolly Parton, Kenny Chesney, Kacey Musgraves, George Strait and Glen Campbell.
The series is a Headgirl Media production for BBC Northern Ireland.
