The 102nd Clogher Valley Show got off to a fine start yesterday (Wednesday) with live stock exhibitors arriving to a new layout of judging rings where the firmer ground conditions proved popular. Weather conditions were dry and dull. For the home industries sections, judging had been completed on Tuesday, July 27.
The marvellous displays of homegrown fruit, vegetables, and flowers as well as rural crafts attracted a steady flow of visitors throughout the day.
Visitors to the show included agricultural minister, Mr. Edwin Poots and the President of the UFU, Mr. David Brown who had a busy time meeting farmers on the NFU Mutual/ UFU stand.
Trade stands represented most aspects of agriculture and the home with leading tractor and machinery dealers alongside gardening and household exhibitors.
