There was great success for Fermanagh Comhaltas over the weekend as a number of members who participated in Ulster Fleadh competitions were placed highly, with many taking the top spot in their respective musical fields.
Following the Ulster Fleadh – that took place in Dromore, Co. Tyrone from July 17 to 24 – a spokesperson for Fermanagh Comhaltas said: "Fermanagh Comhaltas are delighted to congratulate our members who took part in the Ulster Fleadh competitions this year.
"Following on from the fantastic success of Fermanagh Fleadh in June, all eight Comhaltas branches were represented over the weekend, showcasing all the hard work and dedication of our musicians and singers."
The spokesperson went on to praise all those who took part in the competitions and congratulated all those who were successful in their competitions.
The successful competitors will now go on to represent their CCÉ branch, county and province at the All Ireland Fleadh in Mullingar from July 31 to August 7.
"We wish them the very best of luck – go n-éirí an t-ádh libh go léir!" added the spokesperson.
Thanks were given to Dromore CCÉ and Ulster Comhaltas for putting on a "spectacular" Ulster Fleadh, described as "filled with activities and events for everyone to enjoy, and re-connect with those we've missed over the last two years".
The Fermanagh Comhaltas spokesperson added that the fleadh "was a great way to highlight the breadth of traditional Irish music and culture".
