Fermanagh Premiers have won the Northern Ireland Super Cup Globe for the first time.
A second half goal from Alex Magee secured a 1-0 victory over County Tyrone in the final, and ensured the 2022 Super Cup team entered the history books.
The final was a closely contested affair with goal scoring opportunities at a premium, but with ten minutes of the match remaining Corey Smith delivered a low driven cross from the left wing.
The Tyrone keeper could only parry the ball into the path of Magee, and the Ballinamallard midfielder blasted into the unguarded net from eight yards out.
In the first half Tyrone held the upper hand and carved out the best chance when Cameron Crook chested the ball down before volleying wide from 12 yards, but Fermanagh upped their game in the second period.
Substitute Danny Wilson reached Alex Brownlee’s cross ahead of the keeper, but his effort looped over the bar. Jamie Ray then saved with his legs midway through the half, before Magee’s strike sparked huge celebrations in front of a large crowd at Broughshane.
Keith Douglas’ men held onto their advantage in the closing moments, with captain Aaron Smyton finishing a memorable campaign by raising the Super Cup surrounded by his teammates.
