The Fermanagh Recreational Trust, administered by the Fermanagh Trust, is open for applications.
The Trust supports the organisation, development and funding of recreational activities and facilities in Co. Fermanagh with particular emphasis on young people and youth development. Constituted sporting and arts-based organisations or individuals based in Fermanagh can apply.
Recent recipients of grant awards from Fermanagh Recreational Trust include runner Oisin Cassidy and swimmer Jamie Lannon, who received help towards training, equipment costs and so on, which will help their future career.
Organisations supported recently include Naomh Aodhan GAC, which used its grant award to purchase helmets for U-15s hurling and camogie; and Lough Erne Yacht Club were supported by the Trust to host the Topper Traveller Event in July.
With more than 60 boats involved, this gave local young people the rare opportunity to take part in high-quality sailing and races in their own area.
Potential areas of support include the provision of equipment, courses, training and coaching; a contribution towards training or training costs; a contribution towards the development of facilities; bursaries to assist individuals develop their potential; and activities or events which will benefit young people.
Lauri McCusker, the Director of the Fermanagh Trust, said: “Sport, music and the arts play such a vital role in developing our young people and bringing communities together.
"It is so important we support and nurture our home-grown talent, because with their determination they will be able to achieve even more and become great ambassadors for the county.
