Police arrested a 15-year-old male following a vehicle pursuit in Enniskillen yesterday evening, Sunday, August 21.
Inspector Brown said: “Officers were on patrol when a vehicle was observed on Frith’s Pass acting suspiciously around 5.15pm.
“The driver was spoken to and told to remove the keys from the ignition; however, he made off through Gaol Square, failing to stop for police.
“A police pursuit with assistance from our Air Support Unit commenced onto the Irvinestown Road and Lakeside Avenue, where the vehicle came to a stop."
It is understood that during the pursuit, the juvenile drove through a red light at Gaol Square, then continued on the wrong side of the Irvinestown Road onto incoming traffic.
The vehicle ended up lodged in a garden shed a short distance away.
“The occupants then made off on foot. Officers subsequently located and detained a 15-year-old-male who had made off from the vehicle.
“He was arrested on suspicion of a number of related offences, including dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, using a motor vehicle without insurance and failing to stop for police.
“The male has since been released on bail, pending further police enquires.”
Police would appeal to anyone who may have any information in relation to this incident to get in touch by calling 101, quoting reference number 1451 of 21/08/22.
