During his time in Enniskillen last Thursday, August 18, Health Minister Robin Swann visited the new permanent premises of local cancer support charity SWELL (Supported We Live Life) based at No. 26, Cross Street.
The charity provides support to people who have had, are living with or have been newly diagnosed with cancer, their families and carers.
Founded in 2018 by Genevieve Irvine after she was diagnosed with cancer, SWELL also provides one-to-one counselling to people struggling emotionally with cancer, and have a wide range of therapies and activities available.
Speaking following the meeting, Genevieve said: “I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Minister Swann, who allocated nearly £8 million in support grants to a range of cancer charities in Northern Ireland.
“SWELL was very fortunate to be one of the small cancer charities to benefit from the Department of Health Cancer Fund.
“The funding we received was instrumental in the charity securing premises and enabling us to provide counselling, palliative home therapy services and various workshops and activities.”
