Music in Fermanagh is delighted to present the acclaimed international pianist John O’Conor for an all-Beethoven concert at the Ardhowen Theatre on Thursday, September 1 at 8pm.
John has been gathering wonderful reviews for his masterly playing for more than 40 years. Having studied in his native Dublin, in Vienna with Dieter Weber, and being tutored by the legendary Wilhelm Kempff, his unanimous 1st Prize at the International Beethoven Piano Competition in Vienna in 1973 opened the door to a career that has brought him all around the world.
The evening’s repertoire will include Beethoven’s Sonata No. 2 in C sharp minor ‘Moonlight’; Sonata No. 8 in C minor ‘Pathetique’ and Sonata No. 23 in F minor ‘Appassionata’.
This concert will be an outstanding performance and a major event in Fermanagh’s musical calendar.
To comedy now, and fresh from his record-breaking five night sold-out run at the SSE Arena, award-winning comedy writer and stand-up comedian Paddy Raff is coming to the Ardhowen with his brand-new show ‘Look Who’s Raffing’ on Thursday, September 8 at 8pm.
It will feature his own brand of musical and observational comedy for a night full of laughter with a guest appearance from his infamous alter ego, ‘Nigel’.
Since beginning his stand-up career in 2018, Paddy has become one of the biggest-selling comedians in Ireland. His smash-hit stand-up show, ‘Me, Myself & Nigel’, sold out a record five nights at the SSE Arena and the second series of his BBC NI sketch show was a ratings hit. ‘Look Who’s Raffing’ is a show not to be missed!
Back to music, and at 8pm next Friday, September 9, the award-winning Celtic Soul return to the Ardhowen with their definitive tribute to Van Morrison.
With years of playing in Blues, Folk, Trad and Jazz bands, the seven-piece band have the ingredients to deliver Van’s music authentically. Expect to hear songs from right across Van’s musical history, including the big hits as well as stand-out album tracks, from a band that’s been lauded by a range of critics and reviewers for their superb renditions of Van’s hits.
