There were many messages of congratulations, recently to well known Lisbellaw couple, Billy and Iris Lindsay on the occasion of their recent Diamond wedding anniversary.
Billy and Iris (nee O’Donnell), were married in Lisbellaw Church of Ireland on August 4, 1962 by Reverend St Ledger and their reception was in The Manor House Hotel, Killadeas. Their honeymoon was spent in England.
A surprise anniversary party was organised in Rusks, Fivemiletown, attended by local family and family from Scotland, ranging from children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A family spokesperson said: "The occasion even reached Royal attention when they received a card from HM The Queen which was received with great delight which helped to make the day very special. Billy, Iris and their family wished to thank everyone helped to make the day a memorable occasion by sending cards and gifts."
