Aid charity Concern is calling on local walkers to put their best foot forward and raise money to help families break free from hunger.
After a break of three years, the Beechvale Natural Water Walk will return this September, supported by the local Concern Worldwide volunteer support group.
The five mile walk will take place on Sunday, September 25 at 10am, starting and ending at the Beechvale Water premises at Cavanacross, Garvary.
Participants can choose to go at a steady pace or run the route, and pets are welcome.
The group’s co-chair, Marie McKenna, said: “It’s an event for all ages and abilities, and a chance to meet friendly faces from both near and far. It’s also a great opportunity to enjoy the beautiful countryside and outstanding views from Topped Mountain. People can donate on the day or raise sponsorship."
She added: "Your donations and sponsorship will help families across the world living in extreme poverty, families like those in Pakistan affected by the floods. More than 33 million people in Pakistan have been affected by monsoon conditions and heavy flooding over the last few weeks. You can help to alleviate the suffering of the Pakistani people."
