Award-winning Belfast-based comedian Paddy Raff brings his brand-new show, ‘Look Who’s Raffing’, to the Ardhowen stage tonight, Thursday, September 8.
Expect a night full of music and observational comedy, with a guest appearance from his alter ego, Nigel.
Since beginning his stand-up career in 2018, Paddy has become one of the biggest-selling comedians in Ireland. His smash-hit stand-up show, ‘Me, Myself & Nigel’, sold out a record five nights at the SSE Arena and the second series of his BBC NI sketch show was a ratings hit.
Tickets for this not to be missed show are available at the Ardhowen Theatre website or box office.
Friday, September 9 sees another award-winning act take to the Ardhowen stage.
Celtic Soul are a Northern Irish band, paying tribute to one of the greatest musicians ever to come from these shores – Van Morrison.
The band pays tribute to both the man and his music by recreating the sounds that shaped a generation.
Expect to hear songs from right across Van’s musical history, including all the big hits as well as stand-out album tracks.
Looking beyond this great shows, and the Ardhowen has announced its diverse autumn workshop programme, including arts and crafts, A Capella singing, Ashtanga Yoga, jewellery making, set dancing, painting and textile art, creative writing and more.
To begin, on Saturday, September 10, Bruiser Theatre Company and Queen’s University Belfast explore Brian Friel’s modern classic, ‘Translations’ (1980), in four workshop sessions.
To celebrate the publication of Friel’s digital archive, the Ardhowen is hosting this special workshop series that will explore both playwriting and performance.
Friel’s audacious play looked back to the 1830s and a pivotal moment of transformation as Irish placenames were anglicised; his genius was in making such a remote time and place feel alive and relevant in modern society.
The workshops take place across four consecutive Saturdays from September 10 to October 1, with the adult workshop (for ages 18+) running from 10.30am to 12.30pm, and a young people’s workshop (ages 13-17) running from 1pm to 3pm.
