Fermanagh and Omagh District Council has confirmed that Festival Lough Erne will go ahead as planned following the passing of Her Majesty The Queen due to the nature of its events and activities, which "may provide a positive outlet for reflection".
Festival Lough Erne - a celebration of Lough Erne and all it has to offer - starts this weekend, running from September 10 to 18.
This year the festival continues to promote the Fermanagh waterways with a feast of events and activities taking place across the lakeland county.
A Council spokesperson said: "Activities and events that form part of Festival Lough Erne are largely delivered by community groups and local businesses, as well as the Council.
"These events are small-scale and encourage participants to engage with their natural environment, which may provide a positive outlet for reflection [on The Queen's passing].
"Council events will continue as planned, and anyone who chooses not to attend these Council-delivered events should contact the event organiser and they will receive a full refund."
The spokesperson also noted that Council events that form part of European Heritage Open Day "cherish our local history, heritage and culture and similarly may provide appropriate opportunities for reflection". These Council events will continue as planned.
