The NI Hospice, along with Jones Memorial Primary School, is calling on businesses to submit their creative designs of an owl for 'The Big JMPS Hoot Trail' being held at the school on Saturday, October 22 from 10am to 1pm.
After much excitement and intrigue from the pupils, Jones Memorial Primary School have revealed that the 'Big JMPS Hoot 2022' will be the latest outdoor trail to be held in the school grounds based on the novel, 'The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark'.
As part of the Big Jones Memorial Primary School Hoot, the school are putting a call out for local businesses to join with them to decorate as many owls as possible, featuring designs celebrating all things local to Fermanagh. The owls will be scattered throughout the forest school, showcasing the wealth of local businesses and artistic talent of the county as part of the trail event which has previously attracted hundreds of visitors to the area.
Roberta Bailie, NI Hospice link person at Jones Memorial commented: "Since announcing the 'Big JMPS Hoot,' we have had a great response from the public in pledging their support and saying how excited they are for the owl trail at school that will support such an important charity.
“Now we are asking businesses to showcase their talents and creative ideas to design the all-important 'HOOTS' which will bring joy and colour to the forest trail. The designs can be of any theme, but we are really keen to celebrate Fermanagh and have bright, positive designs for all to enjoy after the difficult times that we have faced.
She continued: “Our previous trails have all been literary based. We have had everything from Elmer the Elephant in milk carton form to Winnie the Witch in human form! We want to receive designs featuring a diverse range of ideas and look forward to seeing what great artwork will be submitted to ensure our trail really is a hoot for everyone. Use this opportunity to showcase and advertise your business!”
'The Big JMPS Hoot 2022' is the fourth trail brought to the Fermanagh area by Jones Memorial PS.
Please arrange to have your owl in school on the week beginning October 17 to 21
A current nurse from the NI Hospice said: "One of the most rewarding aspects however, as a nurse at the hospice, was recognising and understanding how vital the money generated from this amazing project was in continuing the very important work the hospice provides to the community and also in raising the hospice’s profile.”
