Friends of the Cancer Centre’s Fermanagh Fundraising Group had a great day last Saturday, October 1 in Castle Coole, Enniskillen for their charity walk.
Thanks to the support of the local community the walk has already raised over £2,500 for the charity, with donations still coming in.
The money raised by the group will be vital to the work of Friends of the Cancer Centre, which is dedicated to making a real and meaningful difference to cancer patients and their families across Northern Ireland, including patients in Fermanagh who attend the Northern Ireland Cancer Centre in Belfast and the North West Cancer Centre in Derry/Londonderry. The charity is here to enhance the quality of patient care and support through its life-changing and life-saving work, which includes funding additional nurses, supporting local research and providing practical support, such as financial grants, which help families through a difficult time.
Commenting on the success of the event, Geraldine Corrigan, Chair of the Fermanagh Fundraising Group, said: “It was great to see old friends and new at the walk on Saturday.
“It has been a long time since we have been able to do a walk like this and on behalf of everyone in the group and everyone at Friends of the Cancer Centre, we would like to thank the local community for their continued support.”
