NURSING colleagues at the Erne Hospital said farewell last week to a popular night sister, who had retired after enjoying almost 40 years in the nursing profession - 32 of which were in Enniskillen.
Mrs. Nan Miller, night sister at the Erne Hospital medical rehabilitation unit, enjoyed a retirement party at the hospital attended by past and present nursing colleagues and friends.
Nan, from Tamlaght, has a nursing career which spans four decades, with the mother-of-three having started her nursing training as a student at the Tyrone County Hospital in Omagh in 1950.
Paddy Gilgunn, senior nurse patients’ services manager at the Erne, who helped organise the retirement party, paid tribute to Nan and spoke of her many qualities.
