JustUs is hosting a fangtastic Hallowe'en disco for adults with disabilities on Friday, October 28 at the Enniskillen Hotel.
The purpose of the group JustUs is to provide all adults with disabilities with an enjoyable event/night out (one Friday in every month) in a safe, inclusive and fully accessible environment.
To celebrate the return of the group's social events, which were curtailed due to the pandemic, the Hallowe'en disco will be free entry and is open to all people with disabilities over the age of 18 from the Fermanagh area and beyond.
Kicking off at 8pm, and running until 11pm, it promises to be a great night of spooky fun with PJ the DJ providing the tunes to get everyone on the floor dancing. Fancy dress is encouraged with a prize for the best costume. There will be a bar open on the night too.
Please note that those requiring assistance must have a carer present.
Talking about the upcoming Hallowe'en disco, Shelley Cowan, one of the organisers of the event said: "The fact that [JustUs events] haven't been on in such a long time, I'm getting messages left, right and centre [from attendees] saying 'I'm looking so forward to it'.
"I just want everyone out there to have the opportunity [to have fun and socialise].
"It's something to look forward to," she added.
The group's aims are to empower individuals from the disabled community to feel part of the wider community and experience the same opportunities for a social life. To stimulate or boost morale and help to improve overall mental health and physical health and well-being amongst the disabled community. To organise events that allows people from the disabled community to meet, socialise and integrate with others in a similar situation to themselves. To be cross-community and fully inclusive in nature – for all in the disabled community to feel welcome.
JustUs events will be open to anyone over the age of 18 years with any form of disability i.e. Physical, Mental, Learning, Sensory etc.
