A man who was a passenger in a car stopped by police during a band parade had two ounces of cannabis in his possession, a court has heard.
Gabriel O'Neill (31), with an address of Fallswater Street, Belfast, was in the car on July 7 in Brookeborough, Enniskillen Magistrates Court heard on Monday.
A parade was taking place, and as the car approached police, they observed the passenger appearing fidgety. O'Neill was searched and the cannabis discovered.
His solicitor, Pat Morgan, told the court his client had been using the drugs as pain relief due to injuries he sustained in a road accident when he was 18.
He added that it was obvious O'Neill should not have been doing that, and asked the court to give him credit for his plea and clear record.
For possession of a Class-B drug, O'Neill was given a 12-month conditional discharge by Deputy District Judge Laura Ievers.
