The latest literary-inspired trail hosted by Jones Memorial Primary School in aid of charity certainly was a hoot as pupils, their families and members of the local community enjoyed fun activities with a few surprises along the way.
The Big Hoot trail in support of the Northern Ireland Hospice took place in the school grounds on Saturday, October 22, running from 10am to 1pm.
On the day, families were able to walk through an adaptation of ‘The Owl Who was Afraid of the Dark’, by Jill Tomlinson.
Amongst other activities on the day, those in attendance enjoyed the opportunity to get some delicious marshmallows and make s’mores, experience fireworks and gaze at the constellations through a telescope.
There was also a scavenger hunt and owl-inspired crafts.
Local businesses also joined in the owltastic fun by creating owls that celebrated all things Fermanagh that were displayed along the trail.
The trail concluded with a spectacular birds of prey display facilitated by Ian Patterson, where those in attendance were introduced to real barn owls.
All proceeds from the trail will be donated to the Northern Ireland Hospice.
