THE Education Minister, Michelle McIlveen visited Queen Elizabeth II Primary School on Thursday, October 20.
The sun was shining for a lovely tree-planting ceremony at the primary school in memory of the late Queen Elizabeth II.
While she was there, Ms. McIlveen also saw pupils at work in their classrooms and in the outdoor play area, which was officially opened last December.
She met staff and spoke with the Board of Governors as part of her day visiting schools in the area.
Speaking about the visit of the Education Minister, principal Joyce Clingan said: “We were delighted that the Education Minister took the time to visit the school.
“Because we are named after Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, it was lovely and fitting that Ms. McIlveen was there to plant a tree in her memory.
“She was very impressed with the school’s facilities and beautiful surroundings and we were delighted to show them off.
“The children enjoyed meeting and speaking to the Minister, and were a credit to the school during the visit.”
