Children from Lisbellaw Primary School & Community Nursery were delighted to present £1,500 to the visiting Hope and Glory Choir, from Eswatini, Africa recently when the choir visited the school as their sole Fermanagh stop during their UK-wide tour.
The children and the school community were presenting the funds to help support children in Eswatini living in extreme poverty, with boxes of school uniforms also donated.
Children collected coins, with the funds raised also including proceeds from the school's harvest concert, which saw local churches invited and parents and other relatives in attendance for the concert, which featured singers Kathryn Little, Avril Orr and Lynda and Alice Lindsay, with Rev. W. Jeffrey playing the flute, and led by the school's own Key Stage 2 choir.
Thanking the school for the generous donation, the Hope and Glory choir members spent a full day with the children, playing, dancing and singing with them, and teaching them a few words from a different language.
