Eimear Smyth hit 2-09 as Derrygonnelly Harps secured the Ladies Ulster Intermediate title with a 2-11 to 2-06 victory over Cavan side Castlerahan/ Denn in Healy Park today.
Derrygonnelly led 1-04 to 0-05 after a close opening period but Castlerahan/Denn hit back to level at 1-06 apiece ten minutes into the second half with Shanise Fitzsimmons converting a penalty.
A second Smyth goal though helped push the Harps five clear again and although the Cavan side bagged a second goal of their own through Rachael McEnroe, the Harps defence stood firm and three Smyth frees secured the victory for Derrygonnelly.
