Fermanagh and Omagh District Council will illuminate Enniskillen Castle and Strule Arts Centre, Omagh on selected dates throughout the month of November.
On Monday, November 7 both buildings were illuminated blue to mark this year’s Talk Money Week. The theme this year is ‘credit’ – to help demystify some of the jargon, build people’s understanding of credit products, and what their options are, including other forms of support that might be suitable.
On Wednesday, November 9 Enniskillen Castle and Strule Arts Centre will be illuminated orange to mark Microtia Awareness Day. Microtia derives its name from the Latin word that means ‘little ears’. Approximately one child in every 9,000 is born with microtia. It occurs when the ear or ears do not fully develop during the first trimester of pregnancy — this leaves the child with small, underdeveloped, or no ears at all.
Inter Faith Week commences on Sunday, November 13 and to mark this both buildings will be illuminated yellow. Interfaith week is an occasion that is intended to celebrate the UK’s religious diversity and to strengthen ties between communities of different faiths and religious beliefs.
World Diabetes Day takes place Monday, November 14, in recognition of this Enniskillen Castle and Strule Arts Centre, Omagh will be illuminated purple. The theme for this years World Diabetes Day is “education to protect tomorrow”. The International Diabetes Federation has launched a global survey to explore the levels of access that healthcare professionals and people living with diabetes have to diabetes education.
