The fundraising campaign for little Pippa O’Shea got a major boost at the weekend after two events took place to raise funds for the five-year-old Enniskillen girl, a daughter of Julie and Mark O’Shea.
Mum Julie’s salon was a hive of activity, with hundreds of people coming to support the cause – all keen to help fundraise for medical tests in London for Pippa, who began experiencing some neurological difficulties over 18 months ago.
Hairstylists and beauticians from Eden Hair and Beauty were joined by other hairdressers and beauticians, all coming together for the ‘blow-dry and styling’ event.
Others who pitched in included local musicians (Sean Magee and Darragh Greene), with the Giddy Box providing prosecco and many other local businesses donating flowers, sweet treats and raffle prizes. Photography on the day was provided by Big Beard Photography.
Speaking to The Impartial Reporter, Julie said: “We raised £18,729. We had all the Eden hair and beauty staff involved, and another 15 hair and beauty therapists from other salons also joined us on the day. We welcomed just over 300 salon guests.”
Elsewhere, others got behind the cause for Pippa’s Medical Fund, with Akrobatz Bouncy Castle Hire organising a ‘Bounce for Pippa’ at St. Macartin’s Cathedral Hall, Enniskillen.
A spokesperson from Akrobatz Bouncy Castle Hire said: “A huge thank-you to each and every one of you who came and donated.
“We are so pleased to announce we currently have £1,055 to hand over to Julie O’Shea for Pippa’s Medical Fund.”
The organisers were grateful to those who donated their time, including Country Ices Ice Cream Van; musicians (Jamie Donnelly Music, Cara McGillion, Georgia McCusker Music, Michaela Harkin, Caillín Joe Music and The McConnell Family Band); Kevin Farrell (Spar, Derrygonnelly); Emlyn Burns (‘The Casson Costcutter, Derrygonnelly); and Enniskillen Tesco and Enniskillen Asda for providing refreshments.
