A Lisnaskea man tried to throw away drugs when running from police, it was heard at Enniskillen Magistrates Court on Monday.
Police were on mobile patrol of Lisnaskea at around 7.05pm on April 21 when they observed a male loitering at the back of a shop, the court heard.
When they pulled up to speak to the male – Shane Christopher McGovern (27), of Trasna Way in the town – he ran off in the direction of Main Street.
As he was running up the street, police saw McGovern's left arm fling out while running before he was stopped.
Whilst speaking to the defendant, police detected a strong smell of cannabis and a search was carried out, but nothing was found.
Police conducted a walk back to where they saw McGovern's arm fling out and found a package with eight small 'deal' bags.
CCTV footage obtained by police also show the bag being thrown by McGovern.
The drugs found were cannabis with a weight of 20.86g and a value of £104.
For possession of a Class-B drug McGovern, who is currently in Maghaberry and was appearing via video link, was given a two-month prison sentence.
