There were busy scenes in the heart of Irvinestown at the weekend as the community gathered for the Christmas lights switch-on ceremony – with Santa himself popping by to add to the fun.
Quite a crowd gathered for the special event, with people of all ages delighted to see the lights add some festive cheer – with everyone welcoming the return of the switch-on as the first such event since the pandemic broke out.
Adding to the Christmas air, pupils from St. Paul’s Primary School, Irvinestown PS and St. Mary’s College sang carols, while a range of other events and activities ensured there was something for everyone to enjoy.
The highlight, however, came when this year’s Lady of the Lake, Chloe McKelvin, was joined by Santa Claus, along with the Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Barry McElduff, to press the button and turn on the lights, with Christmas season now firmly up and running in Irvinestown, to the delight of all.
