A man who exposed himself to teenage girls has avoided prison and has been ordered to complete a probation order.
It was heard at Enniskillen Magistrates Court on Monday that on April 8, police received a report from a girl.
She stated she and a friend were walking past a playing field when Cyril Albert Irvine (45), of Tirwinny Road, Ederney, started shouting at her, saying she had "nice legs", and asking her to sit on his lap.
She also said Irvine made a motion as if masturbating, before lowering his trousers and exposing himself.
The injured party said she said to Irvine: "We are 14", to which he replied he did not care, he was 45 years old, and started to approach them.
The girls ran off and phoned the police, the court heard.
Later on that evening, police received a report of a drunk man at Forthill Street in the town who was shouting at families and exposing himself.
This was Irvine, who was highly-intoxicated, and when police arrived he shouted abuse at them before being arrested.
When asked by police did he ask the girl to sit on his lap, and made a motion with his hands of masturbating, Irvine said: "I didn't know. I am stupid."
When asked about other points, he said it was a lie.
Irvine's barrister pointed out to the court that his client was convicted after a contest, and not all the facts that were read out in court were established in evidence during that contest.
He said the aggravating factors were that it was two teenage girls involved, adding that the conduct attributed to the defendant was "totally inappropriate".
Mr. Roddy said Irvine was suitable for any disposal the court was minded to hand out, and accepted that due to the nature of the offences, Irvine's liberty was at stake.
District Judge Steven Keown told Irvine that the only reason he was not going to jail was that he would be released from custody in the new year, and they would "be no further on" in trying to stop this behaviour.
For disorderly behaviour and exposure, Judge Keown ordered Irvine to complete a three-year probation order, saying it was a direct alternative to custody.
